Update from Administrator – February 4, 2021

Dear Residents and Families,

As always, we hope this letter finds you safe and healthy.

Beacon Brook Health Center has three new positive residents from our weekly PCR testing and two staff members who have tested positive.

We are reminding our staff to not only practice safeguards against COVID in our center, but to be vigilant outside of our center and share these practices with their friends and loved ones. We still ask you to do your part while in your community and PLEASE wear your mask, wash your hands, and watch your distance. And please promote these very simple precautions with your extended family and friends.

Our final CVS clinic is scheduled for Monday, February 8, 2021.

First COVID-19 vaccine doses will be available for individuals at the third clinic, but such practice will be reserved for situations where the individual receiving the vaccine will be confident in securing their second dose independently from the CVS onsite clinic program.  In such instances, the individual should pursue their second dose from an available provider in their local area.  The individual will need to take responsibility for ensuring that only people who meet this criteria will receive the first dose at the third clinic.

Any staff and resident who is willing to find a provider who is distributing the Pfizer vaccine within 3-6 weeks after this initial dose will be eligible to receive the first dose with us on Monday.  If the second dose is not given within this time frame, the vaccine may not be as effective.  If you are interested and able to secure a second dose of the Pfizer vaccine for your loved one in the community, please contact icn@beaconbrookhc.com by Friday 2/5/21 at 12 noon, so we may request enough vaccine.

Warm Regards,

Melissa Vivo, LNHA, Administrator
